The Crested Gecko (Yellow Harlequin Dalmatian Morph) is a beautiful and highly sought-after crested gecko featuring a bright yellow base color combined with the bold patterning of the Harlequin morph and distinctive Dalmatian spotting. The Harlequin pattern creates strong contrast along the sides and legs, while scattered black spots add even more character, making each gecko completely unique. Native to the forests of New Caledonia, Crested Geckos are arboreal reptiles that thrive in environments with plenty of vertical space and climbing structures.
Known for their calm temperament and hardy nature, Crested Geckos are one of the most beginner-friendly reptiles while still being appreciated by experienced keepers. They are nocturnal and most active during the evening hours when they explore branches and foliage throughout their enclosure.
A vertically oriented enclosure with branches, plants, cork bark, and hiding areas works best for this species. Temperatures should generally remain between 22–26°C (72–79°F) during the day with a slight drop at night. Humidity should be maintained around 50–70% with regular misting to provide drinking water and help with proper shedding.
In captivity, Crested Geckos thrive on balanced fruit-based gecko diets formulated specifically for them. Insects such as crickets or small roaches can also be offered occasionally as a treat and additional protein source. Fresh water should always be available.
With their vibrant yellow coloration, dramatic Harlequin pattern, and unique Dalmatian spotting, these Crested Geckos are truly eye-catching animals. Each individual displays different markings and spot patterns, making every gecko a one-of-a-kind addition to any reptile enthusiast’s collection.
