Fluval Stratum Volcanic Aquarium Soil is a premium planting substrate made from mineral-rich volcanic soil collected from the foothills of Mount Aso in Japan. Its lightweight, porous structure promotes strong root development while allowing plants to absorb essential nutrients more efficiently. Stratum also helps maintain a slightly acidic to neutral pH, creating ideal conditions for tropical fish, freshwater shrimp, and live aquatic plants. This substrate supports beneficial bacteria growth for improved water quality and encourages natural behavior in shrimp by providing a soft surface and micro-habitats. Perfect for planted aquariums and aquascapes, Fluval Stratum enhances plant growth, boosts water clarity, and provides a dark, natural base that highlights the vibrant colors of fish and plants.
