Weather Loach (Misgurnus anguillicaudatus)

The Weather Loach, also known as the Dojo Loach, is a peaceful, active bottom-dwelling fish famous for its playful personality and tendency to become more active before changes in weather or barometric pressure. They are social fish that thrive in groups and make a wonderful addition to cool-water community aquariums.

How to Care for Your Weather Loaches
✔ Keep them in groups of 3 or more to encourage natural social behaviour.
✔ Provide a soft sand or smooth gravel substrate, as they enjoy digging and burrowing.
✔ Include driftwood, caves, plants, and hiding places while leaving plenty of open space to explore.
✔ Maintain excellent water quality with regular water changes and efficient filtration.
✔ Always use a secure lid, as Weather Loaches are skilled escape artists and may jump from the aquarium.
With proper care, Weather Loaches can live 10–15 years and become friendly, interactive pets that often recognize their owners and eagerly come to the front of the tank during feeding time.
