Yellow Crested Gecko

The Crested Gecko (Yellow Morph) is a vibrant and eye-catching reptile known for its bright coloration and distinctive crest that runs from above the eyes down along the back. This beautiful morph displays warm yellow tones that can range from soft pastel shades to rich golden hues, making it a standout in any reptile collection. Originally native to the forests of New Caledonia, Crested Geckos are arboreal lizards that thrive in environments with plenty of vertical space for climbing.

Crested Geckos are well known for their calm temperament and ease of care, making them one of the most popular reptiles for both beginner and experienced keepers. They are primarily nocturnal and become most active during the evening and nighttime hours, exploring branches and foliage in their enclosure.

A vertically oriented enclosure with branches, plants, and hiding spots is ideal for this species. Daytime temperatures should typically remain between 22–26°C (72–79°F) with a slight drop at night. Humidity should be maintained around 50–70% with regular misting to help with hydration and proper shedding.

In captivity, Crested Geckos thrive on a balanced fruit-based gecko diet designed specifically for them. This provides the essential nutrients they need to stay healthy. Insects such as crickets or small roaches can also be offered occasionally as a treat and an additional source of protein. Fresh water should always be available in the enclosure.
